Most people have experienced that nagging feeling that makes you think you’ve left the stove on or left your phone somewhere. However, when this type of feeling turns into a persistent, irrational thoughts that you cannot get out of your head, and when it causes you to act on it again and again, it can be a sign of OCD. Having these obsessive thoughts can cause you a great deal of stress and anxiety. Performing certain actions or rituals can ease the anxiety connected to these thoughts, but they eventually make them worse.
Because of this, it is pertinent to seek help as soon as possible. Counselling will help you recognize your irrational thoughts which will assist you in controlling your compulsions. Controlling your compulsions, even though it might be difficult at first, will help reduce the frequency of these thoughts and help you have control over your mind.
